A diary that answers to you

Write it down. We can't read a word of it.

Miday is a journal with an AI companion, and you choose who runs it. Speech becomes text on this phone, always. Everything else goes to our proxy — which keeps none of it — to a provider whose key you bring, or nowhere at all.

Free. iOS and Android.

What it guarantees

Three rules, and the app is built to enforce them

Not values on a page. Each of these is a property of how Miday is put together, which is why we can state it flatly instead of hedging.

You choose who runs the AI

Miday AI, your own key at OpenAI or OpenRouter, or no AI at all. Pick ours and your writing passes through our proxy on its way to the model; we keep none of it and count the calls, nothing else. Speech is not part of the choice — it becomes text on your phone, for everyone.

No account, no gate

Writing, reading, searching, unlocking, exporting and turning speech into text work offline, forever, with no sign-in. An account exists for two things: Miday AI and cloud backup.

Encrypted before it leaves

Zero-knowledge and end-to-end encrypted. If you turn on backup, what we store is ciphertext we have no key for. That is the architecture, not a policy we could quietly change later.

Four ways in

However the thought arrives

Type it, say it, photograph it, or talk it out. All four end up in the same encrypted journal — and what you say is turned into words here, on the phone, whichever AI you chose.

Write

Plain text in a serif that gets out of the way. Autosaved as you go.

Speak

Record and get a transcript, both on this phone. No account, no connection, and nothing sent anywhere.

Photograph

Add a picture and write about it. Understood by whichever AI you chose, stored encrypted here.

Talk it through

A companion that asks the next question. It runs wherever you told it to.

First launch

It asks one thing and then gets out of the way

No email, no password to invent, no five-screen tour. A step that takes no input is not a step, it is a toll — so there is only the one question that genuinely needs you.

1
Who should run the AI?

Miday AI, your own key, or nobody. Every answer is a single tap, and nothing is downloaded.

2
Only one answer needs an account

Miday AI asks you to sign in — on the settings screen it opens afterwards, never in front of your journal. Seven days are free and take no card.

Everything else happens without asking. Your vault, the credential that unlocks it, and its recovery phrase are all created for you — they exist from the first launch, and Miday tells you where the recovery phrase lives when you are somewhere you can write it down.

The other half of it

What Miday cannot do for you

The guarantees above cost something, and you should know what before you install anything. Nothing here is fixable without giving up the part that makes Miday worth using.

We cannot read your journal

Which also means we cannot recover it. Lose your vault password and your recovery phrase, and the entries are gone — the property that keeps us out keeps everyone out.

Whoever runs your AI can read what you send them

Us included, if you pick Miday AI: your writing passes through our proxy on the way to the model. We keep none of it, and the app names what each feature sends and lets you switch any of it off. Speech is the one part that needs no trust — it never leaves.

The AI needs a connection; the journal does not

Companions, titles and photo understanding all go over the network, so on a plane they are simply absent. Writing, reading, searching, unlocking, export — and turning speech into text — carry on exactly as before.

Price

Free, unless you want us to run the AI

The journal is free and stays free. What costs money every month is running a model for you and keeping an encrypted copy of your journal — so that is what the subscription is, and there is nothing else in it.
