What Miday holds, what it never holds, and who else is involved. Nearly every line here is a property of how the app is built rather than a promise we could quietly change.

What we hold
Your journal is encrypted on your phone with a key we never receive. If you turn on backup, what reaches our servers is ciphertext — entries, recordings and photos alike — and we cannot decrypt any of it.
The account is the exception: signing in gives us an email address, and our billing records say whether a subscription is active. That is the whole of what identifies you to us.
Miday AI, if you choose it
Choosing Miday AI means your request passes through our servers on the way to the model that answers it. For the length of that request we handle the plain text of whatever the feature sends: a conversation turn, an entry being titled, or a photo you asked about.
We keep none of it. It is not written to a database, not written to a log, and not stored as a file; the only record kept is a count of calls per feature, so the monthly allowance can be metered. Nothing in our systems could reproduce what you wrote.
The model itself is run by a third-party provider acting on our instructions, and we ask them to retain nothing. The provider in use is named in the app's AI settings, and this page changes if it does.
Speech never leaves your phone
The model that turns your voice into text ships inside the app. Recording and transcription both happen on the device — for everyone, paid or not, online or not. No recording is sent to us or to anyone else.
Backup
Backup stores ciphertext and nothing else, with Amazon Web Services. We can delete it and see how much of it there is; we cannot open it. If a subscription lapses we keep it for 30 days so you can restore or export, and then delete it.
What an account is for
Two things only: Miday AI and cloud backup. Writing, reading, searching, unlocking, exporting and speech-to-text never ask who you are, and there is no sign-in in front of them.
Deleting your data
The Backup screen erases your cloud copy immediately. Deleting the app removes everything on the phone — and since we hold no key, that really is everything. To close an account, write to us and we delete the email address and the billing record.
Where it is processed
Our servers and the provider that runs Miday AI are in the United States. If you are in the EU or the UK, that means your account details — and, while a request is in flight, whatever you sent to Miday AI — are processed there, under the standard contractual clauses in our agreements with those providers.
Children
Miday is not intended for children. The companion is a third-party model whose replies we do not control, which is part of why the app carries an older age rating in both stores.
